Games with Dandelions
Wristwatch
Use your fingernail to make a small slit in a dandelion stem just below the flower. Wrap the stem around your wrist like a watchband and thread it through the slit. Isn’t our dandelion flower watch beautiful?
Sunglasses
Use your thumbnail to make a slit in two flower stems of equal length just below the flower. Connect the two stems with a third stem, threading it through the slits. This creates these visually striking sunglasses.
Water Pipe
Children love building long water pipes out of dandelion stems.
The tubes are slid one inside the other, always with the thinner end going into the thicker one. To allow the water to flow through, the tubes are placed in milk cartons or cans filled with water (poke a hole in the sides). The little “fountain masters” fill one container with water and watch with excitement as the water trickles from the upper container into the lower one.
