Material

• Soccer
• Barrier tape, marker flags, or similar items
• Possibly a whistle for the referee
• Optional: armbands for team identification

How to Play

To prepare for the game, mark off two goal lines (e.g., with barrier tape or flags). Ideally, they should be located between two trees. The playing area should be reasonably flat and located in the woods.
Teams can be divided however you like, e.g., using the alternating teams method.
Once the teams have been divided, the game begins: The teams compete against each other with the goal of kicking the ball past the opponent’s goal line (standard soccer rules apply).

Possible Modifications

• Uneven playing fields can be taken into account when forming groups; for example, boys can be pitted against girls, with the boys having to play on the higher side.
• Goals scored by younger players and/or girls can count double.
