A simple and quick way to make a cushion without using needles and thread.
Materials needed: scissors , a piece of fabric (preferably fleece), fabric scraps (also preferably fleece, or something else suitable for stuffing the cushion),
Preparation
The best fabric for making a cushion is fleece, as it is soft and doesn’t fray at the edges, but you can also use any other fabric that meets these requirements.
Cut two squares (or rectangles, circles or any other shapes) from the fabric, adding 5 cm to each side.
A typical cushion measures 40x40cm, so you’ll need two pieces of fabric measuring 50x50cm.
On the wrong side of the fabric (i.e. the side that will be inside the cushion), draw lines 5 cm from each edge, in our case so that a 40x40 cm square is formed in the centre.
Make small cuts in the fabric from the edge to the drawn line at intervals of about 2 cm, thus creating fringes around the drawn square. Do the same with the second piece of fabric.
Fold both pieces of fabric together (so that the wrong side of the fabric – the side with the marked lines – is on the inside) and tie together the fringes from each piece that lie opposite one another. Finally, leave a few fringes untied.
Through the opening that remains, stuff in some fleece scraps or something else suitable for filling. The material mustn’t consist of pieces that are too small, so that it doesn’t fall out between the knots.
Tie the rest of the fringes together.
The cushion is ready!
