Here you can find out how you can use cotton pads and wax to make fire starters with the children
Material
- Wadding Pads (Cosmetic Supplies)
- Candles
- Match
- Resealable plastic bags
Instructions
- Light a candle
- Drip the wax from the candle onto a cotton pad (do not hold the candle too steeply or it will rust and the wax will turn black)
- When the cotton pad is completely covered with wax drops, turn the cotton pad and repeat on the back side
- When the wax has dried, place the kindling in a resealable plastic bag
Tips
- The little bag of kindling fits nicely in the breast pocket of your cub shirt
- To use: When using, pluck the cotton pad apart slightly and light
