The trading game was developed for the ABÖJ East camp "Survival in the Bush", based on the book Bruchko by Bruce Olson.
However, with slight adaptations, it is a very basic game that can easily be transferred to other themes.
The aim of the game is to translate a text written in a foreign language.
Only the medicine man can help with the translation - and he can only help if he receives medicine.
The medicine must be traded by exchanging resources and time at various stations.
The trading game is a mixture of strategy and running game. The groups run from station to station and have to decide together which station currently offers the best exchange opportunities in order to make as much profit as possible.
The detailed instructions can be found in the download area.
The site plan was very helpful for our camp to decide in advance where which station would work best.
The stations are set up commercially so that longer walking distances are required for the better exchanges.
The translation text on a large plotter printout was very well received and easy for everyone to see.
