15 Gilt is similar to " 10 Seconds Hide and Seek."

It’s also known as “Fifteen, Fourteen.”

It requires no materials and no preparation.

Game Information

  • Age: 6 and up
  • Number of players: at least 6
  • Location: outdoors (forest, other places with plenty of hiding spots)
  • Duration: 5–10 min

Gameplay

  • A volunteer (or, if necessary, someone is chosen) counts down from 15 to 0.
  • Everyone hides in the meantime.
  • The seeker may take three steps. Anyone the seeker sees (and calls out by name) is out. For each person found, the seeker may take three more steps.
  • Now the seeker counts down from 14 to 0 -> Everyone who is hiding must high-five the seeker during this time (and say their name) before hiding again.
  • The volunteer may then take three more steps, and the whole process repeats.
  • Now the seeker starts counting from 13, and the game continues until everyone has been found.

Note

If not everyone knows the names of the people involved, you can agree that the person searching can also describe the person they’ve found if they can’t remember their name: “Behind the tree at the edge of the yard, wearing a yellow T-shirt and red pants.”

Make sure the “catchers” aren’t “knocked down” or shoved when high-fiving; otherwise, issue a warning to the person in question.
