The song "The Bible Has 66 Books" is a fun and accessible way to memorize the books of the Bible while maintaining the correct chronological order.
Song Lyrics
The Bible has 66 books
I know all these books well
They speak of God and my Lord
They speak of everything dear to me
Moses has five books of his own
Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 and 2 Samuel
The two Books of Kings, 1 and 2 Chronicles
Ezra, Nehemiah, and Esther, too
The Book of Job, the Book of Psalms
Proverbs and Ecclesiastes as well
The Song of Songs, Isaiah, and Jeremiah
Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel, and Hosea
Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, and Micah
Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai
Zechariah and Malachi, the Four Gospels,
Acts of the Apostles, the Epistle to the Romans
1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians,
Galatians, Ephesians, and Philippians
Ephesians, Colossians, and 2 Thessalonians
Two Letters to Timothy
Titus, Philemon,
The Letter to the Hebrews and the Letter of James
Then the Epistles of Peter, one and two,
the three letters of John, Jude, and Revelation.
Learning
One way to teach a group a song is to place the lyrics in a visible spot and sing through it a few times. Then you can cover up a few book titles and try singing it again. You can then cover up a few more books, and so on, until the song has to be sung entirely from memory.
This method works best when used over the course of several days, such as at camp.
