The American Easter Egg Hunt is something like the XXL version of the Easter egg hunt. A somewhat unusual game, but particularly interesting (and probably unforgettable ;).

Explanation & procedure

This idea comes from a free church in southern Germany, which is led by an American pastor. He implemented the idea of the "American Easter Egg Hunt" with his team (for the first time?) in Germany. This involves filling huge quantities of plastic eggs with small gifts and sweets and hiding them, hanging them from trees, etc. At a starting signal, the children can run off and collect eggs. The whole thing is then usually over quite quickly. Additional program points are therefore required.

Alternatively, the number of eggs can also be kept smaller by actually having to "search" for the eggs in a larger area (e.g. forest).

Sources of supply

The plastic eggs, which you need to be able to open and close again, are probably not available in Central Europe. However, one possibility is to obtain them from a dealer in the USA (e.g. Ebay.com; search for "fillable easter egg hunt").

The costs for this are put into perspective if you use them over several years. It would therefore make sense to ensure that the children are only allowed to keep the contents and not the eggs as such.
