Object lesson using a simple piece of paper.

Story

Once upon a time, there was a man who saw that someone else had a ticket to heaven.

“I’d like one of those too,” said the man, “Could you give me a piece of it?”

(Cut off a piece of the ticket and give it to the man who asks for it.)

So his friend gave him a piece.

But he actually thought it wasn’t enough. Just to be safe, he wanted another piece.

And he got that, too.

When he arrived at the gates of heaven, he gave his pieces to God.

God looked at them and said, “When I look at these pieces, I see that you are not my child.”

(Show that the pieces spell the word “hell.”)

The man, who had been kind enough to give away two pieces of his ticket, also arrived at the gates of heaven.

Although his ticket was damaged, God still said, “I can clearly see that you are my child. Welcome to heaven.”

(Unfold the remaining part, and you’ll see a cross.)

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

Jesus suffered and sacrificed Himself on the cross for our sins. He offers us the only way to heaven. Do you already have a ticket?
