Ten-year-old Monica (EPA afternoon programme)

Submitted by Hrisko on

In the new quarter of our EPA season, we are starting a new theme that is all about different short stories. They are related to children or animals that God uses in amazing ways. The first story we will look at is about a ten-year-old girl named Monica. Our focus will be on learning to listen and trust God in all situations.

Introduction

We start with a welcome and rules, also introducing the children to the new topic.

Pocket game

We continue with a quick pocket game that can be of your choice.

Big game

The big game can be found here https://www.youngstarswiki.org/bg/wiki/art/igra-trsene-na-skrovische

Treat

The treat can be your choice. It can be served creatively or be related to the theme in some way.

Story

We then go on to tell the story which can be found here https://www.youngstarswiki.org/bg/wiki/art/kratki-istorii-programa-trim…

Praise and sharing

We continue with praise and sharing. Sharing has a key message "Let us learn to listen and trust God in all situations." The passage used is Matthew 10:32.

A verse to remember

The verse to memorize is Matthew 10:32. The verse was printed on A4 sheets so that each child had a copy. On the sheet are highlighted letters of different colours to form words for the children to find. The words are 'Jesus' and 'reward', but the children are given another task which is to make a word related to the topic from the letters that are in the text.

Small groups

We divide the children into two groups up to and including age 10 in one group and age 11 and up in the other group. The small groups discuss what is being said during the sharing. In the first group up to 10 years it should be more active like games or manual work. The group from 11 years upwards have a discussion on the topic.
