Ideas for pre-evangelistic projects from practice. A field report from Langenthaler Jungscharen.
This article is a Forum Heft article and it is attached in full as a pdf below - only excerpts are reproduced here.
For a long time the church of F. has regularly made interesting meetings for the family members of the youth and teenagers. Everyone is invited - "family" is not seen so much genetically as "spiritually".
The family is a family
How do we deal with change in our lives?
Life is in constant flux, we cannot change. Since the fall of man, we have been subject to transience. The name Abel (Genesis 4:2) means "transience"; the name of his brother Cain (Genesis 4:12-16) means "chased, hurried"; the land of Nod in verse 16 means "land of restless living".

This program was created for Poland as food for thought. The weekly plan could be done like this. However, it has more ideas on a separate sheet what you could still do.
This document gives you a little insight into child development, specifically competencies. We often expect too much from our children, or overtax them. Even in the Jungschar work, where we do not see the children every day, it is important to know their level of development.
Children do not only develop outwardly, their faith also changes with age. Youth leaders need to be aware of this and shape their messages accordingly
Learning Bible verses by heart is a good way to deepen core messages. This can be done in a fun and playful way, so that children as well as leaders can learn Bible verses by heart without much effort or expense
Memorization should take no more than 15 minutes. With the different game variations in advance, however, it can take longer in total.
It can be used at the beginning of the devotion as an introduction or at the end of the devotion as a consolidation. The Bible verses, which are learned by heart, should always be linked in the context of a core biblical message.

This devotion is a possible devotion on John 6:1-15 and can be found, for example, at the afternoon program to the feeding of the 5000 men can be used.
A sheet of paper is cut through with a straight cut, resulting in several sections which can be used for a devotion.

From back to front, the Bible is characterized by the story of salvation as well as historical events. In our new semester we have the theme "D'Jungschi voll im Element" - The Jungschar totally in the element, and we are dealing with the elements: earth, fire, water, air (wind) and gold. The spiritual concept is based on an event from the history of salvation.
So we start at the beginning of the Bible and finish at the end of the Bible - and all that in just five afternoons - not bad, eh? Of course, we cannot deal with the whole story, but only with some very central events - so-called key passages, otherwise we would never be able to do this!

Mentoring in its original form, as practiced by the Greeks, has nothing to do with the Christian faith. However, since the meaning of the word has changed (discipleship would be more appropriate), the word is used in its new sense (extended coaching) in this article.
The principle of mentoring is the principle of multiplication. Paul describes precisely this multiplication to his mentor Timothy and instructs him:
"Pass on the message you have heard from me, the truth of which has been confirmed to you by many witnesses, to trustworthy and reliable people who will also be able to teach others." (1 Tim. 2.4).

Bible text: Judges 6, 1-24
The book of Judges describes a recurring cycle (the people turn away from God, are punished by God, at the low point they call on God again, God appoints a judge and delivers the people from the hands of their enemies, but then they turn away from God again). This cycle is part of this devotion, but the prehistory is also briefly considered in a theater. We are ultimately concerned with why God repeatedly delivers them from the hand of their enemies.
